ICE Prioritization Framework
A scoring model that cuts long backlogs to shippable quarters using Impact, Confidence, and Ease.
The ICE Prioritization Framework is a repeatable decision-making system designed to help growth teams, product managers, and founders identify the most valuable projects to execute when resources are limited. It moves prioritization from 'who is loudest in the room' to a structured scoring model based on three variables: Impact, Confidence, and Ease.
A growth team that works on a 'level 2' impact project instead of a 'level 8' project effectively loses months of potential revenue or user growth that cannot be recovered.
- Backlogs grow indefinitely with no clear 'no' to low-value ideas.

Relative Ranking Over Absolute Accuracy
The goal is to know if Project A is better than Project B, not to predict the exact ROI.
Reduces analysis paralysis and speeds up the transition to execution.
Score projects in batches of 5-10 to maintain a relative frame of reference.
Evidence-Based Confidence
Confidence is the 'multiplier of truth' that prevents high-impact guesses from winning.
Reduces the risk of wasting engineering resources on unproven hypotheses.
Require a 'Confidence Source' (e.g., customer interview, data audit) for any score above 5.
The Cut Line Discipline
A prioritization model is useless if you still try to do everything.
Focuses the team on the 20% of work that drives 80% of the results.
Define team capacity in points and draw a literal 'Cut Line' on the backlog.
